Setting KPIs is not something you do just for the sake of doing it. You also need to reflect on how you set them. The company pays for action, not activity. Writing KPIs that make sense for both you and the organisation is therefore essential.

Proactiveness is the daily discipline of choosing your response rather than reacting to your circumstances. Between what happens to a manager and how they respond, there is a small space — and in that space lies their real freedom. Proactive people use it. Reactive people surrender it.

A more useful way to utilize a competency framework is a shared language for making people decisions. It's not make the framework like an inventory to keep.
